Hope Updates
At Hope Restorations, we are committed to continually assessing our program effectiveness and best use of funds, both earned and philanthropic—evaluating the “how” without ever changing the “why.” Our mission remains the same: restoring lives through recovery, purpose, and opportunity.
As our organization has grown, so have the realities and needs of the communities we serve. In our early years, rehabilitating properties provided a meaningful avenue for workforce development while also revitalizing neighborhoods. However, as the housing landscape has changed, even the most distressed properties are no longer accessible in the same way. The high costs related to property acquisition and building materials make contracting, whether for our own projects or others’, no longer financially feasible. As of January 1, 2024, Hope Restorations has transitioned away from facilitating construction projects.
Since opening the House of Hope for Men, the number of individuals we serve has grown significantly. With that growth comes a responsibility to remain intentional by avoiding a one-size-fits-all workforce development model and ensuring each participant receives the support and opportunities best suited to their strengths and individual path forward.
Today, there is still plenty to learn from our men’s workforce development program as it focuses on practical, real-world experience through the daily operations that sustain our organization. Participants are actively involved in preparing homes for new tenants, maintaining properties, and supporting the management of over 40 units. Through this work, they gain hands-on skills in property maintenance, teamwork, accountability, and the value of consistent, quality work—while learning what it truly means to show up, contribute, and grow.
We are actively planning other micro-enterprises as avenues of workforce development that will engage our participants in the job-site experience that we have found to be a necessary component of workforce development and increased employability. As always, our valued partnerships with our community colleges are well utilized and bring participants closer to achieving their goals.
Most importantly, we are dedicated to helping each individual identify their unique strengths and pursue opportunities through employment, job placement, and continued education.
While our methods evolve, our purpose never does: to provide the structure, support, and opportunity needed for lasting recovery and a restored life.

Building a Recovery Network

Hope Restorations works to create a recovery network by utilizing partnerships with established organizations. Our staff connects participants to enrollment in public health programs and works with partners to cover the cost of care for those who are unable to pay. We also address other determinants of recovery, such as access to transportation, housing, employment, and social resources. Partnerships are an essential part of Hope Restorations’ expansion of services. We look forward to joining your communities to make a regional impact.
